The University of Liverpool is looking for an enthusiastic quantititaive researcher who has experience of applying longitudinal analysis methods to large complex datasets to solve policy relevant applied research questions. You should be an enthusiastic data analyst, epidemiologist or data scientist, preferably with some understanding of and commitment to health inequalities research, and have expertise in: Working with large complex datasets including data linkage, data management and data cleaning Working with Local Government and NHS partners you will use routine datasets to evaluate the impact of a diverse set of national and local interventions and policies.

The Impact team undertakes a number of supportive activities to help the NHS and social care to use NICE guidance, including measuring, assessing and reporting its uptake. The Analyst will join a developing team within NICE providing an expert analytical function: measuring the uptake of NICE guidance; collecting, providing and collating information to support guidance producing centres; developing baseline assessment tools and; exploring variation in the use of NICE guidance. The post holder will work with a broad range of stakeholders including front-line clinicians, academic units, clinical experts, the Office for Life Sciences, ABPI and NHS Digital.
You will have:
• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience and further training/development
• Knowledge of routinely collected health and healthcare data, such as prescribing data, healthcare activity, epidemiology and costs
• Effective and persuasive communication and presentation skills oral, written and presentation with a high degree of personal credibility and sensitivity
• Ability to gather data, analyse, critique and synthesise complex information and prepare reports and briefing documents
